＊我最喜歡的選手之一是 Jens Voigt. 不只因為幾年前我和他暍過咖啡。有誰不愛看 Jens putting the hurt into 集團? And 通常他在前面都不是為自己。Jens 在集團前工作猙獰的面目是自行車運動的 visceral embodiment  — 可以為了隊上而完全犧牲自我。Of course Jens 是 paid to do what he does. 但還記得去年在 Tourmalet? 或他前天摔車前在集團前的工作? hwa. Who gets paid enough to do THAT! 不是每個人都可站頒獎台，但每個人都可選擇享受自行車運動給我們的團體成就感, 體驗我們運動的 essence  — if you are willing to do what Jens does.

＊雖然昨天不是山頂結束，但他們 raced it like summit finish. Contador 在 Colombière 山頂前的 attack 應該就是一個 big fat middle finger to… no not the Schlecks, but to Bruyneel/Armstrong 政權。雖然 Contador 在事後表示悔意，但還有人想這三個人明年還會在一隊嗎？

＊也許是眞的，Nice guys don’t win le Tour: Did Sastre lose it or did the dark side finally come to the fore?

＊很多 breakaway 成功也表示更 tactical riding. 誰在工作，在什麼時候工作，一隊有多少人在工作? 這些就好像在看棒球的野手位置：if you get it 看的懂就很好看。Hemingway 很愛自行車，但他沒寫太多自行車文章，( A Farewell to Arms: “Here it is a great thing,” Aymo said. “A bicycle is a splendid thing.”) 說是太 complicated 來寫. 就像任何 worthwhile pursuit, you’ve got to put in the time to understand it.

＊說到誰在工作。。。stage 14 後半段 Garmin 在集團前做很多工。Why? Bob Stapleton 很不爽，說 Garmin 眼紅 Colombia，看不得 Hincapie 進黃衫。Jonathan Vaughter 聳聳肩，說 Garmin 只不過在前面保護 Wiggins 和 VDV。Soap opera continues.

＊今年的速度看來更合理嗎? A cleaner Tour? 看爬坡速度。。。
