Better hot than not
Ah, so hot these days. But still the will to pedal is hard, just need to ride somewhere away from the sun. 40 degree when started riding!
I chose to ride around Dakeng, that offers plenty of shade, as well as nice, curvy roads with many climbs but few cars. Still there are some areas exposed to the sun, and there temperature went up to 45 degrees today.
Even if very hot, there is nothing that can stop the passion for riding bicycles, after all it was another beautiful day in Taiwan.
Some cool water and fresh fruit is waiting at home, and will enjoy it when the riding is done.

Hi! I was wondering if you might let me know what kind of computer you had on your bike that day? Could you purchase it in Taiwan? How do you like it? And how much is it?
Also, if you wouldn’t mind- Do you have your favorite ride in DaKeng mapped out on Map My Ride by any chance? If so, what ID number would it be under for me to look for? My family will be in Taizhong for a week vacation with our road bikes starting tomorrow.

Hi Virginia. I was using a SRM computer, but I don’t think it is for sale in Taiwan. However, I can recommend you VDO computer, http://www.cycleparts.de/en/customer-service/downloadbereich/bedienungsanleitungen/?flash=0 which is more affordable and you have many models to choose from. You can find them at Modus Velo shop in Taizhong, http://www.modusvelo.com/shop/
I don’t use Map My Ride. I just go up and down all the roads in Dakeng, in a different direction every time, is all good and fun, no way wrong. Enjoy the ride!

actually we do sell SRM at ModusVelo. But for the price, you’d probably want it for more than a “computer”:) VDO Z’s are good choices. They got pretty much everything except power data.
Virginia, if you can make it to Nantou, riding around Puli and Sun Moon Lake is really awesome. And it’s cooler than Taichung, a bit less traffic too.

Hey Josetxo! Como va todo? Espero que sigas montando en bici, que yo no he parado. Todavia vas por Jaia? Hace mucho que no escribo a Javi, dale saludos si le ves.
La bici de carretera la he usado siempre, pero sigo dandole a la mtb todo lo que puedo. La pena es que aqui donde vivo no hay mucho sendero, en cambio hay carreteras muy buenas.

Como va eso Iñigo!! Habia perdido el enlace donde tenia este post y no te encontrabaaa.
Yo si que sigo andando en bici, sigo por el monte como las cabras, rompiendo bicis, ya sabes. Este año estoy andando menos, ya que el 1 de Noviembre nos vamos Ainhoa y yo a correr el marathon de New York, a darlo todo. Llevamos mucho tiempo entrenando, y he dejado un poco aparcada la bici de momento, porque me la jugaba cada dia que salia, ya que si ahora me caigo y me jodo algo, me puede dar un patatus.
El año que viene quiero aprovechar el estado de forma que estoy cogiendo con el marathon, y darle bien a la bici.
El año pasado hice algo de carretera, sali a entrenar varios dias con un amigo, que estaba en el Euskaltel de profesional, y aproveche para ponerme en forma. De todas maneras, me sigue tirando el monte.
Por Jaia hace muchos años que no me paso, la cosa con Javi no acabó muy bien, y decidi no ir más. No fue nada grave, pero no me gustaron una serie de cosas y preferi no volver. De todas maneras ahora practicamente todo el material que compramos lo pillamos online, a alemania o a Inglaterra, que nos sale mucho mas barato.
Estuve hace poco con su mecanico, Alfonso, y me comento que igual querian coger un local mas grande y meterse él de socio. La verdad que con el auge de bicis que hay en donosti, y las pocas tiendas que hay, se tienen que estar forrando.
Bueno tio, me alegro de ke todo te vaya bien, y sigas disfrutando de las dos ruedas. Aver si algun dia podemos volver a rodar juntos!!
