091128 Super Ring of Fire 大火圈
上周六我們在台中大肚山騎 Super Ring of Fire。80km. 13 個坡。超出 2200m 海拔爬坡。4 個小時。9 個傢伙（包括一個騎卡踏兩個月的）。小玉芳子補給照相。再加一隻狗。
80km. 13 climbs. Over 2200m of climbing. Just over 4 hours. 9 guys. Xiaoyu and Fangzi the support/photo crew. Along the Dadu plateau that sepeartes Taichung city from the sea. Who’d have thought there’d be so much climbing along that humble looking rise.
天氣完美。伙伴同道。我感謝上帝給我們這麼好的一天。
It was a perfect day for riding. Great weather. Great camaraderie.
年輕的育偉在兩個月前開始用卡踏。這天他應騎的最辛苦。每到山頂就聽到 ok 不錯加油走吧 let's go！完全沒有休息的機會。

It was a tough ride! 2200m of climbing condensed in 80km says it all. Last 4 climbs I was really out of energy, no power at all. Those climbs are steep! But it was fun too, suffering with joy, amongst good friends (those you meet on the road and share hard efforts with).

This is what my friend Andrew from California had to say about our ride:
That scrappy little bitch showed a lot of initiative. I think she’d make a fine addition to your apartment in Puli.
I liked the footage of you guys climbing that steep narrow road next to the bamboo. I wish we had roads like that here. But I thought it was a little bit fascist that you were all wearing the same outfits on a training ride, perhaps even a bit Kopetskyesque if you will. And I do prefer Cash’s version of Ring of Fire.

I think wearing the same uniform make more than one feel like couldn’t quit mid-ride, and had to finish all climbs as planned. Because it feels like we are all more together when wearing the same jersey, and one cannot leave. But this is something good we seek, not like it is imposed to us, it makes us try harder.
Besides, those jerseys look very good ;)

yeah Inigo. you designed the jersey. besides, what’s a team ride without some iron-fisted disciplines. I think goose-stepping is on the agenda for this sat’s ride, right?
