This year Team Cinelli-Ritchey is using Schwalbe Durano tires and tubulars.  These are very high quality tires from the prestigeous German brand. Tires are a very important piece of equipment for racing, since it is our contact material with the road, it means we are looking for good grip, low resistance, high durability, puncture protection and light weight. It seems difficult to achieve all points, but  Schwalbe tires and tubulars do, therefore become our choice.

Durano tires are the choice for high mileage purposes, because no other racing tire lasts longer. The Dual Compound offers great grip for training even on wet roads. It also features RaceGuard protection belt to prevent punctures. Folding tire weights 235g.

Under normal conditions it is expected tread life should be over 10.000 km! So far we didn’t ride that long on them, but for the time being they show no sign of wear. And it is important too, they feel very comfortable even at high pressure.

The Durano tubulars have the particularity that the tube is not just inserted, but directly vulcanized into the tire, thus avoiding a seam and guaranteeing a perfectly smooth ride. They ride very smooth indeed, and also feel very comfortable even at high pressure. Combined with Ritchey Carbon Apex WCS wheels it is a incredibly fast and light race wheelset.
